GWYBODAETH AM JOHN PARRY

Ganwyd John Parry i deulu o fferm fynydd yn Nantglyn, ger Dinbych. Roedd yn ddisgybl yn Ysgol Ramadeg Dinbych tan 1966 cyn iddo lwyddo cael lle ym Mhrifysgol Sheffield i astudio Gwleidyddiaeth ac Economeg. Fe raddiodd gyda gradd 2.1. Yna fe lwyddodd i sicrhau lle yng Ngholeg Brazenose, Rhydychen i astudio Gradd Meistr mewn Astudiaethau Busnes Amaeth.

Ar ôl ennill ei Radd Meistr fe benderfynodd ddychwelyd adref i weithio ac yna rhedeg fferm y teulu. Ni anghofiodd yr aberth a wnaeth ei deulu er mwyn ei alluogi i brofi bywyd yn y Brifysgol. Yn hwyrach yn ei fywyd, ac yntau heb unrhyw berthynas agos yn fyw, penderfynodd ei fod eisiau helpu pobl ifanc drwy roi cymorth iddynt ddatblygu eu hunain a gwireddu eu potensial.

Bu farw John yn Hydref 2006 gan adael cymynrodd sylweddol ar ei ôl; roedd yn dymuno iddo gael ei ddefnyddio i greu Ymddiriedolaeth a fyddai'n talu grantiau blynyddol i fyfyrwyr a oedd yn dymuno parhau gydag Addysg Bellach.

GWYBODAETH AM YMDDIRIEDOLAETH JBP

Bwriad yr Ymddiriedolaeth yw "Cyflwyno grantiau blynyddol i fyfyrwyr Addysg Bellach, yn enwedig y rheiny sy'n dod o gefndiroedd difreintiedig."

Mae Ymddiriedolaeth John Bennett Parry yn dathlu 10 mlynedd o ddarparu cymorth ariannol i fyfyrwyr Addysg Bellach. Byddai John wedi ei syfrdanu fod ei etifeddiaeth yn parhau drwy'r Ymddiriedolaeth a'n bod wedi cefnogi dros 300 o fyfyrwyr. Rydym yn gobeithio, gyda buddsoddiad ariannol cadarn, y gallwn barhau i gefnogi myfyrwyr am y 10 mlynedd nesaf.

Mae Ymddiriedolaeth Addysgol John Bennett Parry yn elusen gofrestredig (Rhif Elusen 1123459) a reolir gan Fwrdd o Ymddiriedolwyr
